God is inviting us to rediscover who He really is, the God of the impossible, who is not limited by our understanding or circumstances. As we encounter Him, our response is not to control or figure everything out, but to repent, trust, and step into deeper relationship with Him. What feels impossible is often an invitation to let go, trust God more fully, and believe that nothing is too wonderful for Him.
1. Pala ( פָלָא) — The God of the Impossible
“Pala” is the Hebrew word that describes God’s wonderful, impossible, and holy actions, that are too wonderful, too difficult, and beyond human understanding. What feels impossible to us is not difficult for Him. We often try to reduce God to what we can explain, but He is not limited by our logic or circumstances. He is the God of beyond, the God who moves outside of what we can calculate. The question we have to ask ourselves is simple: is anything too difficult for God?
2. Repentance — A Change of Mind
Repentance is not about shame or punishment, but about returning to truth. It is a change of mind that realigns us with who God really is. We repent when we begin to rely on ourselves, when we try to control outcomes, or when we make God smaller than He is. Repentance moves us out of striving and back into surrender, out of fear and back into faith. It restores our wonder and brings us back into closeness with God.
3. Trust — The Response to Wonder
When we encounter a God who is beyond our understanding, we are faced with a decision to either harden our hearts or trust Him. Trust is the pathway through which God moves in our lives. It does not require full understanding, but it does require surrender. Every moment that feels uncertain or impossible is an invitation to trust God instead of trying to control the outcome. Faith is not having all the answers, but choosing to believe that God is enough without them.
“They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them…” (Nehemiah 9:17)
“You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’
Surely I spoke of things I did not understand,
things too wonderful for me to know.” (Job 42:3)
4. Relationship — The Foundation of It All
God is not looking for performance, He is inviting us into relationship. Trust is formed in relationship, and peace is found in His presence. Like a child at rest with a parent, we are invited to live without striving, without anxiety, and without needing to figure everything out. We do not have to understand everything to walk with God, we simply have to stay close to Him.
“‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” (Mark 9:23)

5. Capacity — The Space to Believe Again
God restores our capacity to dream when we do not humanize his wonders but glorify them! Our humility before a God too wonderful allows us to live freer knowing that our hope is in him!
“Put your hope in the Lord both now and forevermore.” (Psalm 131:3)
