What is Fount’s oversight and accountability?

Fount is part of C3 Church Global, a movement of 500+ churches in 65 countries. Within C3 Global, we are accountable to multi-level oversight through weekly reporting, and each C3 church agrees to a statement of faith and financial guidelines. Pastors Josh and Georgie have pastoral over-sight from both C3 Global and C3 Americas at a regional level. Fount also has an independent board of Directors for additional oversight at a local level.

How does Fount’s board function?

Our board meets quarterly to review the health of the church, as well as financial decisions for staff, capital expenditure and expenses. All decisions are discussed and voted on by the board.

How is the budget determined?

The budget is set in alignment with the vision of Pastors Josh and Georgie in order to reach more people for Christ and grow the church. The budget is set every year in December for the calendar year and approved by the board. Budgets are based on the needs of each location, department and team.

How are the financial accounts managed?

Tithes and offerings—which are received through our Pushpay app, cash and checks—are deposited into our main Chase bank account. This account is used for all general expenses of the church. Vision Builders gifts are deposited into a separate account (restricted fund), which is only used for Vision Builders purchases. We also have two savings accounts with Wesleyan Investment Foundation, where we are currently saving amounts for our building project. All staff are accountable for their spending for their department with a set budget and receipts required for any purchase made.

How are staff salaries calculated?

We set staff wages by researching local NYC churches, looking at the average wage according to neighborhoods we reach, and referencing salary guides from churchsalary.com. This provides an adequate living level for the staff member as they minister without the burden of financial pressure. Wages for each staff member are set and approved by the board, and we review wages yearly.

How does Fount keep records of my giving?

We use Elvanto database for record-keeping, alongside Pushpay which is linked so that all records are kept accurate and secure. At any time, our finance department can provide a giving record or you can use your own login to see your giving to Fount. After the end of the financial year, a giving statement is sent out for that year, as we are a registered 501c3 nonprofit.

How does Fount keep records of expenses and income?

We use Quickbooks as our accounting software. Two full-time bookkeepers with an independent organization called Start Church reconcile our accounts monthly. Based in Atlanta GA, Start Church is dedicated to meeting the needs of pastors, leaders and church boards—and has assisted over 16,000 churches and ministries. They also provide CPA accountants to support any additional questions and ensure that we meet government regulations.
